Klartexthousing ("we", "us") is the data controller for the personal data processed through the Klartext Housing service. You can reach us at support@klartexthousing.com.

• Account data — name, email address, and login credentials. Purpose: creating and securing your account. Legal basis: performance of the contract.
• Search preferences — your apartment criteria (budget, size, rooms, districts, Anmeldung, pets, WBS, and similar). Purpose: matching you with listings and sending alerts. Legal basis: performance of the contract.
• Application documents — documents you upload (e.g. SCHUFA, ID, payslips, rent-debt-free certificate). Purpose: providing the document-management feature you request. Legal basis: performance of the contract and your consent.
• Usage and device data — IP address, device identifiers, and usage/telemetry data. Purpose: security, fraud prevention, and product improvement. Legal basis: legitimate interests.
• Support messages — messages you send us. Purpose: customer support. Legal basis: performance of the contract and legitimate interests.

Payment data is collected and processed by Paddle, our Merchant of Record, under its own privacy terms.

• Service providers / subprocessors — hosting, database, and email delivery providers that process data on our behalf under contract.
• Paddle (Merchant of Record) — for the sale of our product, subscription management, payments, tax compliance, and invoicing.
• Professional advisers — legal and accounting advisers where necessary.
• Authorities — where we are required to do so by law.

Some of our service providers process data outside the EEA. Where this happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as adequacy decisions or Standard Contractual Clauses.

We keep your personal data only for as long as needed to provide the service and meet legal obligations. When data is no longer needed, it is deleted or anonymised. You can request deletion of your account at any time.

You have the right to:

• access your personal data and receive a copy (portability);
• rectify inaccurate data;
• request erasure or restriction of processing;
• object to processing based on legitimate interests;
• withdraw consent at any time, without affecting prior processing;
• lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
